As we gear up for the new year in 2017, now is the perfect time to reflect on whether or not we’re living the best version of ourselves possible. Sometimes it feels like things never seem to go the way we want them to in our lives. Maybe 2016 wasn’t your year. Maybe you feel like you need a change of pace or a major shift to get you back on track. No matter where you are in your personal journey, there’s always time to make change.
It’s important to remember that our mindset and attitude can make or break the changes in our lives. How we act, interact and react, how we plan and how we conquer our challenges all play pivotal roles in the outcome of our destiny. One key factor is to find harmony within ourselves.
Take a moment to ask yourself a few questions…
- Is there something holding you back personally or professionally?
- If so, how do you think you can overcome those obstacles?
- What are your short term and long term goals?
- How can you create a pathway to reach those goals?
- Who do you need by your side on this journey? Remember, support is key.
The answers to these questions may not be easy. What’s important is that you’re thinking about them now and that’s step #1.
And remember this, you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. Yes, you’ll face challenges and it may not be easy but passion and determination will ultimately guide you. Trust your intuition, that’s what it’s there for!
1. Determine Your Short & Long Term Goals
A great place to start is by making two lists, one for your short term goals and one for your long term goals. For short term, think in the timeframe of the next 6 months. For long term think the next 2-5 years or longer. Once you have your lists put together, take a look at them side by side and see what connections you can make from the goals on your short term list and how they can lead you to accomplishing your long term goals. Analyze what steps you should take first or what order is best to make them attainable.
2. Make A Game Plan
Allow those short and long term goals to outline your game plan. This game plan will help to keep you motivated throughout the process. Sometimes if we can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel we wander or lose sight of what we started out to accomplish.
Keep your goal lists handy and make a promise to yourself that no matter what road blocks come up this year, you will make every effort to stay the course. Keeping a journal is a great idea.
3. Don’t Overcomplicate Things
This chart says it all.
4. Take A Look At Your Support Team
Make sure your support team (and your environment) are feeding you positive energy. If not, it’s time to re access. This is crucial. You need to feel empowered and confident so take a close look at your surroundings and ask yourself if you’ve got the support you need.
New Year, New You…
Let 2017 be the year you let your true colors shine. Never lose sight of your goals and intentions and always remember to be bold, be free and above all, be YOU. Live deeply and never with regret! You’ve only got one life so get out there and live it!
Happy New Year and Healthy Blessings,
